if you have a frame with comb on it keep it to put in your hive. the comb is the infrastructure for the bees,storing pollen,nectar,brood.It takes 5 pounds of honey to make 1 pond of wax. We do have bees , my OP would be to buy a nuc locally rather than mail order. good luck with them.
Contact the county extension office they have a class on Monday night also look up Escarosa beekeeping club.
We have bees they are registerd with the Fl Dept of AGR. It is interesting .
