Got them back
I bought some parkerizing solution off ebay, and all I can say is wow. Very easy to do and it looks outstanding.
Now I need to get a small bead blaster and this should look outstanding.
Have been playing around with a bent charging handle for the Beretta(Shipwreck is...
I think I have heard back from everyone but HonkyTonk and Ian. Everything I hear has been good news about the fit and function of the handles.
Shipwrek asked for a handle to get around his honking optics.
That is my TRS-25 there. It is small for this setup. I will try to knurl the...
First gun was a Winchester model 67 Boy's Rifle. An Uncle of mine gave it to me when I was about six. I think I got a Red Ryder a week later.
MarkS look at this site. They have most of the nos from Savage http://www.gun-parts.com/savageshotgun/. I think what you are looking for is about at the...
It looks like Beretta has a large tolerance on the hole in the receiver where the charging handle fits into. I met up with bobinbusan this afternoon and his stock charging handle was a snug fit in his receiver. Needless to say these few I made were too big to fit. I asked to take his receiver...
I have made a couple more out of the 4130 material. I think I have 6 or 7 already spoken for. I think everyone who has asked on this thread should have a pm from me. If this goes alright I will make a batch to see if they will sell.
Thanks
David
Gonedown let me see if I can get the W1 to temper like I need it to. Ian's was a little hard and cam apart on him.
TennJeep's is out of 4130 but is a lot harder to machine. I just saw a little video he put together and it looks great. I have another project going and will have to put it on the...
Just the round knob is delrin. I am pressing it over a tool steel pin that fits the slide. Yes it is a little heaver than the stock charging handle, but when you take the weight of the slide into account the few extra grams do not mean much. If I recall it a difference of around 6 grams. (these...
I guess that is a good thing to have the option to run the charging handle on what ever side you want.
Shipwreck, Let me get some more feedback from the couple I have out and I will try to get you one.
David
I am in the same boat. I have a trs-25 but it is too small for the Beretta. I think you a least need a 32mm red dot. I have heard some good things of them cheap BSA's as long as the paint will stay on them.
Mike you run yours on the left side like that. I like to have a grip on the forearm of the rifle rather than the pistol grip for charging, Or are you a lefty.
Yes the first ones are a little loose. Will definitely tighten that up on future ones.
Thanks
David
That is the problem I have on the lathe I ran those on. My slide has a .257 hole and that was what I was shooting for but you can only do so much. Plus with the boss only being less than a 1/4" anything small will be sloppy. The run I make will be on a cnc so those problems will go away. I just...
O.K. One should be in L.A. with TennJeep and another in Holt with Stuntmanmike. Hopefully they will have some good news about them. If all goes good I should have a batch in a couple of weeks and will offer a deal to everyone on the forum.
