      If I was going to shoot a 270 I would shoot Hornady American Whitetail, it's available in 130 grain and 140 grain and cost just over $20.       I've had good luck with the Hornady American whitetail in 129 grain. I think the biggest thing as always is shot placement. People make subpar shots and complain about the rounds performance.
