break in the barrel properly and put in a 2lb timney trigger and that will be one of the best shooting rifles (with good ammo) for $500 on the planet.. I have a 300 win and a 7mm mag A bolt and they are imo some of the best guns for the money you can buy!!!

I have this gun in stainless with a synthetic stock. I love the gun and if my 19 year old didn’t love it so much I would hunt with it more. Great gun and a great caliber.

Why do you have to have the Boss System?

I have one I'm .270 with good Leopold glass and it's incredibly accurate. Mine has the Boss and my uncle has it w/out. It's an adjustable break, that's it. Will improve accuracy but at these local distances, there's no need for it outside of ease on the shooter (recoil, noise, muzzle rise, etc). If you're shooting 400yds + or have a bum shoulder, Boss can help. As most common hunting rifles don't come with a BOSS or break, it would never be a deciding factor in buying. It's an A-Bolt, all ya need to know.

    Very nice rifle, GLWS.
    Mine with BOSS

Because it reduces recoil, you can adjust it for the grain bullet you are shooting, and I just think it looks cool. I'm really after a browning BAR safari.
