So, Gander Mountain opens tomorrow. I was wondering if anybody is planning on going there tomorrow. Has anybody been to one before? I looked online, it kind of looks like Academy with reloading equipment and components.

Any local promotions being done? Any sales ads in the PNJ?

I havent seen any. My wife drug me to Barnes&Nobles the other night after dinner and I saw the sign on the old Sports Authority. Im going to ride by tomorrow and check out the reloading supplies since I just ordered my press and of course the firearms section.

In Pensacola, I think the street is Airport between Davis Hwy and 9th Ave.

Anybody know what time they open? I'll probably ride up there at lunchtime.

I was helping a friend price out a Springer 1911 today. A model that everyone is selling for $580-590 was listed at $699 at Gander. That is a good example of what I have seen for years at Gander when I lived in FL.

Yea John, when I lived in Lakeland, I would stop in the Ocala Gander Mountain. Very rarely bought anything.

I have been to one in N. AL, and every once in a while they have decent deals on guns. The one thing I have seen with them is that they usually have ammo. Not great pricing on the ammo, but not gouged pricing either. I may go by there tomorrow and see if they have any .22 ammo.

I was originally excited until I read latter in this thread about how over prices they are. I will probably still swing on by when I am in town to pick up a few items for reloading but not going to get carried away. It would be nice if powder was reasonable to avoid hazmat fees.

If they hope to stay in business here then they need to be competitive with pricing! Academy is my go to place for most. Might have to swing by though after work!

I heard when they open a gander mountain all ammo orders for other locations are put on hold and funneled through the grand opening store. Pretty sure they have .22lr tomorrow.

I just left there and Academy has nothing to worry about. I've never been so underwhelmed at the opening of a new store.
They have the most impressive display of guns I've ever seen but prices are ridiculous.
Tons of ARs but stupid prices. I've been looking at buying an M&P Sport.
I can order for $579 with $6 shipping and no tax. Gander wanted $729.
    I just paid $360 for a M&P 15-22. Gander wanted $599.
Ammo prices were about 25% higher than Walmart.
They had a lot of used guns and I saw a guy leaving with a Winchester 94AE that was priced good at $279 but it did have the crossbolt safety. They had a bunch of milsurp rifles that looked almost new. Century Arms I believe. They were $369 IIRC. But most used prices were nothing special.
Very nice store, incredible gun counter and stupid prices. They won't last near as long as Sports Authority did.
It won't be one of my weekly stops.

Just left gander myself and... DITTO. Roll a bass pro and dicks together and sprinkle in about 10-15 percent on prices.
