Nice Mod 0 w/ SEI build documentation. I had a few 0’s and 1’s and sold them. Mod 1’s for the most part when I built a couple were the most sought after or the Patent Pending Mod 0 “chopped chassis” etc.

If you want more info, go to the M14 firing line forum. Very knowledgeable members on there like Crazynoto, Forceman, Regularguy etc.

This was my last correct Mod 1 build (minus optic) and eventually sold. It was built on a NOS SEI receiver/barrel that was a last run of receivers they had made.

Cool thing was I was able to get the 2pc Kydex FDE handguard that was used on one of their Mod 1 builds (see pic) when used to display and solicit for US military contracts etc.

Still want to know how to get 3200 ft. safely out of a M1A-M14 , Just want to justly why I think I have right to ask, I shot service Rifle from the early 70' to about 89' shoot a lot of M-118 and loaded alot of 762 -51 State rifle team- Camp Perry for about 3yrs. A match some place just about ever month some time twice in doing so got to shoot with the AMU shooters all ways went a day before the match at Fort Benning to spend some time a Glen Nelsion place he all ways would take time with you got him to build about 5 rifles for me. Ammo was all ways one thing that was talked about to make it run and the twist of the rifling. Have built a lot of rifles over time. and M1.. Now to my question how do you get 3200 in a M1A every thing I learn was a round 2750 with 168 with about 42.5 of 4895 any thing much more was was banging up the rec. bolt and other parts. cracked rec. The AMU had load that they said was for the heavy wind they was haveing them hand loaded for them and would not tell us what was in them and had to pick up the fired brass and turn them in they maked them on the back each rifle was logged as to how meany was fired in them and at some point had the rec. tested was told it was about 500 rds. then the 118-LR came out but it was supposed be for the bolt guns and not recommend for the gas guns. Had SE build three rifles with rec. con. numbers from the first 100 he made. That an other story. Had four REc.. Now back to my question how do you get 3200 safely out of a M1A. I hope gives my right to ask. Want to learn. Just my 100 cents jj

That must have been a treat to be around Glen Nelson. I had an M1 that was built by him, one of those rifles I wished I still had. I do have a Remington 40X HB in .22lr that was a SATU training rifle before it went away in the late 70’s if I remember right and was owned by Don McCoy and Art Luppino, a little piece of history I’m glad to own.
