    I bought a Model 514. It is a single shot bolt action 22 short, long, LR. It doesnt have serial numbers on it but the barrel is stamped with a code. Does anybody know how to tell the age from the code on the barrel. They started making this model in 1948.

    Thanks.. Jan 1966. I figured it was pretty old but it shoots like a champ with the iron sights.

    Im planning on making a longer custom stock for it.. Dont want to mess up the one that is on it.

    looks good.. The inlet is pretty simple on this model. Ive been wanting to make my own stock but it looked alittle complicated on my Marlin 60. So I might try it on this one, but that Boyds stock will be a good backup..
