    Drill and tap side of receiver and bend bolt handle. Or scout scope setup if you can get used to it.

    Any kind of alterations that would have to be made for your scope set up? What power scope? And price?

    Even though they are plentiful and relatively cheap I wouldn't butcher an old war relic for a scope, or anything. There are plenty of commercial bolt action rifles out there that would be much better suited for a scope without drilling, tapping or bolt modification, and some are very reasonable. Just my humble opinion, but I am very partial to old military rifles and love to see them "as they were'.
