I can't blame her for wanting something else. I was always happy with the results of shooting a critter with 30-06, but never enjoyed the recoil.

Just my 2 cents the 270 would be similar on recoil. I'd go for the 6.5 or look at the 350 legend that's what my kids hunt with.
