That's just it, no citizen is able to read the Toomey-Schumer legislation. They are keeping it very close to the vest. Lord only knows what's in there.

I think the vote just meant they voted to break the filibuster and advance discussion to the floor. They still need to debate and vote on any and legislation going forward.

That's the part that pisses me off. They do all these back door deals and no one is able to read the damn stuff till it's passed.

Total BS. I agree, if you don't get the chance to read it - then don't pass it. I know Frankenstein is going to try and back door an AWB just like she did with the 'Crime Bill' in 1994. Look for Blumenthal to do the same with mag bans. The good news is that nothing of any substance should pass the House once it leaves the Senate to become law.

I have been following and personally reading Federal legislation for decades.

One simple rule: The better the bill name sounds the worse the contents actually are. :frusty:

Edit> and for those that don't know, this legislation is called "The Public Safety and Second Amendment Rights Protection Act"

It still has to pass the House vote.

Actually, this vote was for it to be put on the Senate floor for consideration to be debated and then for that bill and other ammendments( assault weapon and high cap mags, etc ban) to be voted again for actual passage to the House..Several Senators promised filibuster, but we'll see.......
