He's a real piece of work..............maybe he'll learn we're all responsible for our actions . When I was 10 , my Dad handed me a gun & when I didn't check to see if it was loaded he knocked the hell outta me . Taught me right there & then they're always loaded until YOU verify otherwise ...
RL 19 sometimes would work if the gun wouldn't shoot one of the 4350's . IIRC in the '06 with a 165 Nos PT 61.5grs RL19 was in the ballpark with 59.0grs H or I 4350 , check a manual as I'm older than dirt..............
I know Rick Rankin has done at least 1 Carcano rebarrel / rechamber . Was years ago though . He's in poor health , works just a bit now . IMHO he's one of the best machinist for precision chambering in this area . Rumble builds precision rifles so I'm sure they could do it , rather or not they'd...
For serious working rifle IMHO it's hard to beat composite / fiberglass / kevlar / graphite stocks & I prefer parkerized carbon steel over stainless , especially if exposed to freezing temps . Also agree with claw extractor / controlled feed for dangerous game , along with express sights . If...
Black bear is a whole different animal . 30 cal rather the 06 , 300 mag 180gr Partition would be IMHO hard to beat . No sense in kicking the snot outta yerself . 300 mag with a muzzle brake would be tolerable for both of you .
Same old story no perimeter = no security regardless of endeavor . We need to start enforcing the laws already on the books , not just the " equitable " ones . The border could be sealed if the political will existed ...........unfortunately that day has not arrived .
As much as some would...
375 H&H is a pussycat compared to the 338 IMHO . Both will do the job as will a 35 Whelen or 350 Rem Mag . Both the 338 & 375 have a better selection of bullets . How the rifle fits you is also a factor , muzzle brakes work ( guides hate them ) & a good recoil pad too .
Apex predator on his...
Have you ever seen a big brownie up close ???????????? A mature boar makes a barn door look small . They can outrun a horse for a 100yds or so , pile driving strength , plus impressive teeth & claws . They been known to break a moose's neck with one swat ...............
Most professional guides will refuse you to use such light calibers . Most insist on 375 H&H unless they personally know your capabilities . I'd also check the state rules .
BDL has the hinged floorplate so ammo can be dumped w/o cycling bolt , ADL no floorplate . Next long or short action ? I have a walnut factory BDL LA ( 30-06 ) stock in VG it needs a buttplate or recoil pad , reasonable & local .
Many talented 'smiths on 1911's if you want to ship . Buckle yer seatbelts when you start asking for quotes . Then you got a waiting period just to get gun on their bench . Bigger the name , longer the wait & higher the tab . If getting a gun built / accurized etc . pick one who specializes in...
Mark @ Greener Fields in Foley , AL . Ex LE & personally carries a 1911 . I'd say he knows his way around one . Every time I've tried to pin Eric down as to what he will / can do on a 1911 the convo gets stalled . I know Oak Ridge doesn't have any machining capability , no lathe or milling...
Like many I find this subjective . Personally a 22 handgun is for knock-around field use ( ie truck / tacklebox gun ) or target use . I've tried many as I'm a dedicated 2700 Outdoor Conventional Pistol aka " Bullseye " guy . Knockaround a S&W revolver or a Ruger are hard to beat . Target use I...
The Sierra Gameking is an accurate bullet boatail design . IMHO unless plains hunting with 300yd avg shots in a stiff breeze I much prefer the flatbase Pro Hunter as I've had more than one Gameking spit a core . They killed OK , no exit wound ( GK ) , PH is a tougher bullet .
The Accubonds &...
Hornady bullets are on the soft side & for non-mag prefer the Interlok to their others . For your use the cheapest I'd go is the Speer Hotcore as long as you stay below 3000 MV any old cup & core bullet will work fine , faster you want a tougher slug .The Nosler BT 150 - 165 for '06 any speed ...
