      240 Weatherby Magnum advice

Way the OP phrased it struck me as an indefinite loan of an exquisite rifle by a good friend kinda thing . No self-respecting rifle loonie could sell such an item . 'Twould be sacrilege , worthy of ex-communication , tar n feathering & burned at the stake in some places.......

Don't screw the FL die all the way down to the shellholder . Back it off a couple of turns & size a case . Keep screwing die down a bit at a time until case will chamber . If you follow instuctions that come w/ dies , you're oversizing cases & pushing case material down towards belt . Which over...

      240 Weatherby Magnum advice

Is it a Mark V rifle ? If so recoil would be considered on the light side . Probably talkin' 8.5 - 9lbs w/ scope . Now that's in theory , recoil is extremely subjective . Problem is factory ammo will be full power , it is a Weatherby & velocity is king . Not an inexpensive caliber to shoot ...

      240 Weatherby Magnum advice

243 on steroids , + 3 - 400fps . Overbore barrel burner , super flat trajectory . 100gr bullets for pronghorn / deer . Error on tougher side for slugs due to increased impact velocity . Cases are expensive & can't be formed from others . Set dies up to headspace on shoulder , not belt . Powders...

Whats the average price of an sks at moment?

The bolt system was copied from the Simonov anti-tank rifle & lock-up is PFG for a gas gun . Considering w/ good ammo 1.5 moa in issue form is doable .

The thing that gets me most is the smirking , superior , blatant attitude that they can drive the blue bus up our collective asses with impunity . Firmly wrapped in their ideology , they continue to advance non-workable fantasies ad nauseum . I find their capacity for self-delusion bottomless .

New Blog: Red Dots vs. Iron Sights: Which Is Better for Handguns?

FWIW got no problem w / RDS . All my BE guns have either an Ultradot or Aimpoint , as do my hunting revolvers . For precision shooting & older eyes they are a blessing . For CMP / DR open sights a Merit Adj aperature helps . If you're blessed w/ a good eye doc & have the $ a dedicated pr of...

New Blog: Red Dots vs. Iron Sights: Which Is Better for Handguns?

Horseshit . I'm an old Bullseye shooter & National Match record high score was shot with iron sights not a red dot . Learn solid execution of basic fundamentals of which trigger control is # 1 . For a paper puncher & older eyes OK , but not for serious bet the farm social work . For a SD gun &...

Colt 1911 recoil and main springs

No problem with a 19lb mainspring . Recoil spring choice would depend on 1) Configuration ie open sights , dot , rib w/ dot etc . 2) Tightness of build ie has slide / frame & bushing been tightened up . 3) Loads chosen . 4) Dedicated range gun or possible SD use . You can shoot as light as 3.5...

Democrat Congressman says the quiet part out loud, tips his hand on how he's going to take out Trump legally

Scary thing is he was a professor at American University Washington College of Law , where he taught constitutional law . A JD magna cum laude from Harvard Law . How ironic ????????????

      S&W 38/44 HD pre-war

With the price of a factory letter now I would not waste the money . Now with a rare model / configuration & / or being able to tie gun to a famous person / police dept / branch of the military then it's a good idea . The Heavy Duty's were quite popular with LE & could shoot the hotter 38-44...
