50 years?! Holy crap! I can't imagine anyone being able to jump a conventional chute and weather the landings for that long. I suspect that is some type of airborne association pin.

You could contact the Airborne museum at Ft. Bragg aka Ft. Liberty. I went there a few years ago and was really impressed.

    ^— This.

On the “Contact Us” section, you should be able to reach the museum director or curator by phone and figure out an email solution for photos.

Looks like an 82nd Airborne pin based on the “All the way” motto, but they should know.
Also kind of looks like it may be cast by a jeweler, maybe a commissioned piece for an anniversary?

The first step toward a permanent U.S. Army airborne came in May 1939, when the War Department authorized a small outfit that could be “…transported by airplanes, to parachute to the ground a small detachment to seize a small but vitally important area, primarily an airfield, upon which additional troops will later be landed by transport aircraft.”

That would put 50 at 1989, so that's a possibility.

Called, at least they sounded interested, curator is supposed to call back.
Hey, you never know, I have found some substantial items in other people's stuff.
Pensacola / Destin area is a hot spot for military activity and retiree's so there is lots of history and heroes here.
