First time loading 10mm. For components, I'll be using federal brass, win LPP, 200gr Nosler JHP and some older Hercules Blue Dot I traded for a while back. I would like to get it as close to the original Norma load, 200gr @ 1200fps, the closest the Nosler reloading manual specifies is a max load of 9.3gr Blue Dot @ 1148fps. Anyone try to duplicate the original Norma load?

IMR Hi-skor 800X can give you that speed if the barrel is at least 4.5-5" long.
This powder is flaky and does not meter well so at this level of speed and pressure you have to weight every single load.

From the AA loading guide volume one.
I don't think the SPR 200gr TMJ load is included in their current load data available on line.
    Work up with caution.

AA9 is going to be hard to beat. It’s burn rate and configuration using very small dense ball powder are a plus here.

800x, I'm guessing, will be a little too fast to get you there.

If there's room in the case for it, I'd look for some AA4100 to work up a load. It's a tad slower than AA9 and uses AA9 load data +3%.

From all the research I have done, it seems 800x is a pain to meter, so will probably stay away from it. I'd like to try AA9 if I can get a hold of some. Per your load book, I wonder why you can load the TMJ with more powder and have a lower operating pressure than the XTPs with the same bullet weight?

probably because , given the same oal, the solid TMJ leaves more room inside of the case than the hollow point XTP

Speer no 13 manual shows the same SPR 200gr TMJ max load of AA9 of 14gr @ 1216fps, COL 1.250".

Notes say "Use with caution" & "CCI Magnum Primer used with this powder".

What gun are you planning to load for?

Planning on loading for a G20 but also picked up a mechtech, it should be interesting what kind of velocities come out of a 16in barrel.
