Definitely weld a custom rail on! Use some 6011 rod on 90 amps AC with some nice booger-ish welds! :D The overnight rust that forms will add to that Kyber Pass patina:cool:
Or just go straight to copious application of some JB Weld if you are on a budget.

    :p

    IMHO
    DON’T DO IT!!
Rifles and pistols are aimed… You align the sights.
Not so much with shotguns. Most applications with shotguns are about keeping your eyes on the target and pointing the shotgun. Fit… Length of pull, drop at comb, cast, etc are important.
Throw the damn fiber optic away.
    Again. IMHO
    YMMV.

This clamps on the dovetail. Aluminum frame.

Or I could weld a rail on it!

I had one of the clamp on true glow type sights once…. Took it off almost immediately. Got in the way of my sight picture down the barrel.

Shotgun sights are extremely application specific. There’s no “one size fits all” solution.

A slug gun, bird/trap, tight choke Turkey hunting, self defense, general purpose critter gun, all would require different sights. The closest thing you’ll find to universal is a simple bead sight.

Yep, should keep it simple also light. Going to be a drag around woods shooter anyway. Never shot a deer with a shotgun, always rifle or pistol.
