Suprised to hear yall say pecan prices are down. Seems like the price of pecans has gone way up over the last few years. I like to eat them so I've noticed the hike in price. Maybe fuel and chemicals have gone up at a higher % than the price of pecans have. I heard there is a pecan farm going in off the south Evergreen AL exit. Someone bought a big piece next to the airport there and from what I understand they were putting a pecan orchard in.
That's terrible. Last time I was in Preisters they were selling for $12.00 a pound if I remember. It was enough that I passed on buying a bag.We would have got 1.25 a pound this year if we produced, less 30 cents a pound for the migrant workers to harvest. 8-10 years ago we were above $2 with chemicals 1/4 the cost they are now.

I’ve always heard that if you talk to them, they grow better!Looks like the peach crop might be poor this year. Pecans iffy, just have to spray and see. Blue berries look good. The spaghetti crop looks to be a bumper crop though, cool wet spring really helped the production. Hows others crops looking?
