    There goes someones retirement plan!

A large bale filled with 25 kilograms of cocaine was pulled from the Gulf of Mexico south of the Destin East Pass by five local fishermen today, according to the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office.

The fishermen noticed the package floating in the water and pulled it onto their vessel, the Sheriff's Office news release reported. When they saw it was filled with a number of individually wrapped packages, they contacted law enforcement.

Watch a video of a law enforcement officer opening one package. >>

State and federal law enforcement officers responded.

The Okaloosa County Drug Task Force determined the bale's street value was $2.5 million.

Law enforcement is investigating the bale's origins.

Holy Smokes! Just like the good ol' days back in the 70's when Destin was the cocaine, marijuana import center of the South!

Happens every couple of years. I think one year it washed up on the beach, another year it was a big bale of mary-jane

they fly it out over the Gulf, drop it in the water at a location and a speed boat/fishing boat picks it up, apparently they missed one or it got dropped in the wrong place.

The Colombians are also using primitive subs to smuggle this stuff out too, they have found a couple.

Did the Fisherman get any kind of reward? It was the only "Right" thing to do to turn it in but it would still leave me with a huge lump in my throat to give away that much " Money"
