What mods can I make to my CZ SP-01 and still keep it legal? I would prefer to shoot it ESP, but would be fine with SSP. I have yet to shoot USPSA, but hope to in the near future. I would like to make sure I don't do anything that prevents me from shooting it in Production. At this point I would like to change the sites to a fiber optic front and adjustable rear. Maybe some trigger work.

Throw it away and buy a 9mm 1911.
Just kidding, well, not so much, but I hear those Cajun Works peeps make some pretty good parts for a CZ.

I have a CZ 75 clone with a Cajun Gun Works trigger kit installed and it feels great. I still need to change out my sights and get some better grips.

I thought CZ 's were great guns. Why do you have to do so much work on them to make them run?

Unfortunately you won't be able to take full advantage of the ESP modifications with the SP-01 (like a magwell), due to the full length dust cover. That being said, with a few part swaps and some polishing, you can have a great SSP/Production gun.

Spend some time on the CZ section of Brian Enos forum (http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showforum=200), specifically kneelingatlas' tuning thread: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=191773

As far as parts, these are what I would go with:

    - Sights: https://cajungunworks.com/product/ezd-9-40-for-9mm-and-40-sw/ If you want to go with adjustable (I personally don't care for the sight picture of the adjustable): https://cajungunworks.com/product/1294/ and https://cajungunworks.com/product/050-390-correct-oem-fo-front-sight/
    - Short Reset System: https://cajungunworks.com/product/srs-2-short-reset-system-2/
    - Disconnector: https://cajungunworks.com/product/1485t2-disconector/
    - Hammer/Adjustable Sear kit: https://cajungunworks.com/product/production-legal-drop-in-hammer-kit/
    - Floating Trigger Pin: https://cajungunworks.com/product/tr-pin-cgws-exclusive-floating-trigger-pin/
    - 2 Hammer Pins: https://cajungunworks.com/product/hpin/
    - Starter Punch (You'll definitely need this if swapping the hammer, if you don't already have one): https://cajungunworks.com/product/sp-forged-steel-starter-punch/
    - Reduced Power Trigger Spring: https://cajungunworks.com/product/rp-trs-reduced-power-trigger-return-spring/

    Optional parts:
    - Flat hammer spring plug (If yours has the lanyard loop, which I don't like): https://cajungunworks.com/product/22-hammer-spring-plug-flat/
    - There are some options for an extended magazine release and extended safety, but your best bet would be to contact CGW regarding those for a lefty.
    - I like both the VZ Diamondbacks and the CZ Custom thin aluminum grips for SSP/Production.

After installing those parts, follow kneelingatlas' thread and polish everything he recommends. It will feel like a completely different gun when you're done.

I did all of those upgrades to my first CZ and I honestly couldn't tell any difference between it and a Shadow.
