I made this years ago and figured I would share. I work construction and it seems that the first thing people do with a new tool is take the case and guards and throw them in the garbage. This case went to a rotary hammer. I used a grinder and removed all the little pieces that heals the tool in place. I got the foam out of a dumpster at a foam and fabric store. You could also use foam from an old couch cushion and trim it with an electric knife.
It is also somewhat of a diversion case but, saying DeWalt, it is still attractive to a thief. There were Not near as many secure plastic cases on the market 16 years ago when I made this.
