I grew up as a USAF dependent. Back then, there was no question, the base was cheaper. That's where we bought just about everything.
Fast forward 50 years. I went to Eglin with a friend of mine and I was shocked. We went in the exchange and the commissary. I am a shopper and I remember prices.
The only deals I saw in the entire place was on meat and a few other things in the commissary.
Other than that, I could easily beat the prices at local stores.

I called the exchange earlier and was told that the sale (10% discount on pistols only) is valid until the 26th.

You can go on the Net to the Exchange site, pull up the exchange your interested in and view the current and following weeks Ad Flyers. For Elgin it will show guns/ammo sales when they run them.
