Isn't all ammo at one point untested if you never fired it through the gun before?

I am hoping someone did not missunderstand when I say I showed up with untested ammo, that I just loaded it up, pointed my rifle in the general direction and let it fly to see where it landed. I went to the range with the express purpose of gathering intial shot data for this new 175 grain match ammo to true up my App (I still use Strilok Pro). So when out there I did my inital zero at 100 yards (rifle is zeroed for 168 grain). As expected it shot .5 lower and 1.5 mils right. From there I was able to get rough dope from 100 out to 600. Unfortunately I was not able to dial in within the 2 misses to Qual. All can be assured all shots regardless were well within the range and berm. I did not set myself up for success but then again after being a member for nearly 5 years, I was not expecting to have to Qual.. Not one shot in 5 years ever left the range. I get it next time

Someone with the google earth app ,or other such things, how far behind the 600 & 1000 berms is anything that could be effected by a falling bullet ?
Also, for you math people , a rifle at 3' [at the firing line] and a 16' berm at 600 yds , and a 6' bullet drop from the firing line to 600 yds. At what angle would the rifle have to be held so the bullet would impact anything but mother earth ?
My point is there are always the 10% and from what I see of today's youth that includes those 30 years old and younger that think "I'm going to do what I want to do and F the rules"

there have been reports of rounds hiting on the road/traffic and or another source told me that rounds have been reported hiting the solar farm.

This is reason enough not to shoot there at all. Period. A road with traffic downrange within effective range of whatever caliber being used violates the code. Don't point at anything you're not willing to destroy

The most likely scenario of a bullet getting over the berm would be a shooter being off a full revolution on their turret. This could happen to a qualified shooter just as easy as a non. If the shooter is shooting toward a highway hopefully that target is more than 15 mils below the top of the berm.

I just got back from Element I can confirm they are making all memebers and guest qual for the 600 and the one 1K. I have been there 4 or 5 years and had countless matches there but make no differance. My dumb ass shows up with untested ammo and no dope (I will take every excuse). If my jarhead memory is working.. First qual - 300 yard range. Shoot At 100 Yards full c zone steel, then 200 yard what looks to be a 2" by 8" narrow bar target, then again full C zone steel at 300. You do that without more then 2 misses and you Qual for 600.. Then you go to 600 yard range, you shoot again 100ish, 200ish, 300ish, 400ish, 500ish, and what looks to be a 6-8" circle at 600 or so Yards. So I cleared the first qual no problem with completely untested ammo with no dope. I shot the 600 Yard range and was clean up to 500 and got 2 misses (low hits) to did not qual. Well now I am here and might as well get dope.. Found my dope at 4.1 Mils with 175 grain .308 ammo. Was landing 10 out of 10 hits at 600 with the RO right there but no dice.. I have to come back, only one qual per day. Office is saying they have a 80% fail rate.. With all that data let me ask you fine folks.. What is the point of this exercise? If so my take on this exercise is to make sure you have the min level of knowledge to make sure at the very least, every one of your rounds impact the berm at any given distance right? Here it make no difference if all your rounds are safe you must to hit the target. Oh well, I guess next time I will bring a rifle with known dope and try a again.. Just need to do the 1K qual this time.

The Target at 200 yds is 2” x 8” ? At 600 target should be 3MOA (18”)according to the sheet they have in the office.
