I am looking for a good gunsmith around Crestview. My wife dropped her Taurus 85 and now the hammer will not stay cocked. Functions fine in DA. I have been to one gunsmith in town and will not go back to him. Took him a semi auto that hated anything but ball ammo. He supposedly polished the feed ramp (something I had already done) and adjusted the feed lips on the mags and told me he was sure it was a mag issue. I have an identical gun that has no issues with the mags so I took a dremmel (carefully and slowly) to the feed ramp, then re-polished the ramp, and now it eats any ammo I give it. He didn't even have the courtesy to clean my gun after test firing it before returning it to me.

I appreciate it. I won an auction for a parts kit for it and am waiting for it to arrive so I hopefully have whatever part it may need. I know I could send it back to Taurus but don't want to wait forever to get it back. I will get with you when the parts kit gets here. Should be any day.
