    Just came across this forum and thought I'd give it a try. I'm a handgun guy, don't really have room to store long guns so for that reason stick to handguns.
    Most of my latest purchases have been either 1911's or CZ's. In my book you can't go wrong with either.

    My sincere condolences for your location. It is worth remembering that CA is the largest firearms market in the US, by sheer population numbers, and in spite of their laws. FL is third, following TX.
