I wonder how it will do against the new hypersonic missiles?
We have had this in Arsenal now for a while guaranteed for at least a year and they went on record saying that nothing we had could stop those Hypersonic missiles only a few months ago

Well when the drones go all Skynet, I'm sure they'll all have one.

Lasers are great on vs many threats. Very cheap to operate vs expensive conventional munitions and can track things like drones really quickly. The issue with things like super sonic missiles from what I read once tho is that they operate way up high until the very last part of thier flight trajectory. This puts alot of things between them like clouds, smoke, and if I recall correctly even thermal layers of air can create mirage like affects that break up the beam and cause it to lose intensity. Also keep in mind lasers are light. So in theory I bet if they just polish the rocket up really shiny like a mirror let's say, it would reflect most of the intensity if not all of it away. So when lasers are mounted onto ships let's say, the weather alone plays a huge part in how they can be used. Then they have to power up a huge amount of energy. I suspect that alone may take a good bit of advance warning to crank up the generators etc. Hyper sonic missiles also move so fast they create a plasma sheild around them. The plasma reflects radar waves so they are pretty much invisible. With that being said I wonder how they'd even track one to know where it is to even know to shoot at it, then if and when they do they have to crank things up.. then wait till it's basically in line of sight of the naked eye then shoot it. I wonder what the plasma sheild does to lasers tho and if it also reflects those. Lots of questions tho I'd like to see answered for sure. I wonder if the military has even tested shooting one down yet and if so what did they use.
