Looks like somebody's career is over, but on the other hand, this is the kind of stuff you get now that *news* has become a for profit industry.

I watched an interesting interview with Cronkite once where he discussed that at one point networks viewed the news reporting as a public service and so the news department was not evaluated on whether they made a profit or not. They just reported the news as accurately as possible.

Those days are long behind us.
