“How shall we ever cope with the overwhelming numbers of the enemy?” Jackson’s reply was to the point, “Kill them, sir, kill every man!” -General Stonewall Jackson

I'll contribute an anecdotal one and more of a recount of it, but it includes quotes; Keeping Secrets
    Stonewall Jackson's Valley Campaign 1862:
Jackson issued orders that if anybody asked them questions, the only correct answer is "I don't know"
A man saw a bush loaded with berries and broke ranks to get some, but was confronted by Jackson himself. Jackson asked him several questions; where are you going, have you not been given orders not to straggle, what command do you belong to, what is your name?! To which he repeatedly replied "I don't know" Jackson asked "what do you know?" He said I know I want some of those berries. So as Jackson rode away the soldier called out and asked "what do you know?" Jackson replied "I know how to keep a secret."
