We were driving by this about twice a week. Ship was probably overloaded as they used to pay the captians a tonnage bonus. Delivery speed is paramount. They still push that. In this instance the 1st mate was right. Had the other ship not been close by all would have died.

The ship that I sailed on many years ago was an ore boat and when loaded the deck was likely less than a meter above the line. That seemed very loaded to me.

My dog kills the dillos & possums and runs off the raccoons and rabbits. Raccoons are faster and also harder to kill. I am worried about him and the two older females tangling with a black bear. I only need to shoot the water moccasins.

10 days left before I have to report to boat jail. I knew I'd violate my parole and end up back in. 8 years left on my sentence. May get a home visit in june.
