Not me, I'm living care free for today. Gardening is too much work, storing food takes up too much room and cost a fortune, fresh clean water will always come out of the faucet and gasoline out of the fountain. Animals stink and leave little obamas everywhere. The government will soon realize the error of it's ways and restore freedom and liberty to all Americans.

Ya'll are getting worked up over nothing. It'll never happen here. And if it does the government will take care of us.

CCHGN , try checking out "Grape solar panels" and systems. They are sold through COSTCO.com, and Homedepot.com From what I've looked at in the past... they are the most bang for your buck.

,,that's the problem with altwernative energy, the start up cost is outragious. I'm working on some low cost alternatives, until i hit the lotto....lol

Yeah, we've been planning this for years and have been raising rabbits and chickens....we've been working on breeds that produce optimum food to meat ratios. The DW is into animal husbandry and has developed a breed of rabbit that will consistantly produce, 12-18 kits and will get to optimum meat weight at 16 weeks and can handle this flroida heat better. Also, we went with Nigerian Dwarfs because not only are they half the size of regular breeds( eat less , need less land), they still produce a higher quality( fat content) milk, they breed twice a year and have 2-4 kids each time, compared to other breeds who only breed once a year and has one kids. We've developed chickens that have game in them, so they'll forage better and are more hardy. We let all the animals free range and they can survive on this land with no outside feed. Now, I'm working on solar, wind and water turbine( we're right off Nichols creek) energy.

CCHGN, you are a home brewer? I just built a full electric recirculating mash system. A herms, if you will. If you ever want tomes together and talk brewing or brew up some beer, lemme know. I can do ten gallon batches, and back to back with my propane burner.
