I really wouldn't worry too much about comparing yourself to everyone else, especially on your first match.

If I were to do this, I would have to grow a beard and that would just get ugly.....

This is an excellent way to practice what you carry. I plan on shooting my xds at one of the matches. And don't worry about the beard, trying to grow mine out now and well...it's ugly.

I plan on shooting a new 45 I bought just to try it so don't feel about being a new guy because I am sure going to be one to...I just wish there was someplace to practice some of the shooting besides pointing at light switches and the dog at home LOL...Probabally be as nervous as the first drag race with all those people in the stands.BUT I got through it and had a ball.

I plan on having a good time even if i finish DLBF... Thats Dead Last But Finished.
