Reminds me of Eloise back in 75
Eloise came in at Panama City but washed out the road we lived on just north of Hwy 90 in Milligan and blew trees down all over Okaloosa and shut down 331 and other roads all the way up into Enterprise.Al.
Power was out for about a week in Milligan
This one is bigger and more powerful so take care and be safe
It’s officially a Cat 4 as of the 1:00 am Central time advisory and still hasn’t started the turn off to the east. I’m going to bed in a little bit so I can get some sleep. Going to be up early to see if it’s turned or still headed due north. If it’s coming my way I’m going north to the cousins in Munford just outside Talladega
light rain in Molino too....jim cantore thinks it will be 145mph when it hits...hurricane winds 45mi wide, no n.e. turn yet, going 12-13 mph, noon to 1600 landfall...
When we were all expecting a minor storm, I thought this might be a good test for my family's preps.
Now I'm thinking that this is what we prep for in the first place.
Lots of young adults in the Panhandle too young to have assisted in the prep or cleanup from Ivan and Dennis. They didn't have the chance to learn from experience what we all grew up with. They're all about to learn a lesson on normalcy bias.
Looks like it’s slightly more easterly moving but just heard that it still hasn’t turned. Looks like we’re getting hammered by this one even if it does finally turn
I’ve been here for 61 years and remember Eloise coming into PC and it was bad over here and it was a weaker system
Stay safe and Good Luck
May the Good Lord watch over all within the storms path, AMEN
NOW . . . looking better for us that live to the W of Hwy. 87. If your just across the border into Ala. you don't even need to take in your bird feeders.
Every 20 miles or so that you are E of Hwy.87, it will get worse, fast.
Headed NNE now,at 13 mph,145mph winds. --- SAWMAN
I feel bad for the folks that are going to get hammered but I’m glad that it’s finally moving away from Baker. Rain is picking up and my yard will be a swamp when it is over even though I live on top of the ridge between Blackwater and Yellow River. Thought I had my drainage problems fixed but come spring they will be
