Built this to go get my corn and leave it parked on my hunting property, put a rear jack on it so that it doesn’t tip over when unhooked from the truck. Was going to build a shed to park it under, then thought I’d just use the stake holes on top of the bed to build a structure on top of it but just decided to go with a tarp instead to keep it covered, corn being harvested all around now, cheapest I’ve seen is jus above Defuniak Springs at $40 a barrel

I’ve been using steel 55 gallon drums until today, picked these 60 gallon pickle barrels up at Ozark AL for $35 a barrel, I’m not sure on these plastic barrels, the steel 55 gallon drums I’ve always used probably hold about 325-340 lbs of corn, I’m guessing. Folks around here are money hungry and want $50-60 for a plastic barrel

$1 for 8 pounds at the new corn vending machine in Walnut Hill
that's about $7.00 a bushel or bag...there is about 5.75 bushels in his drum if his weight is correct. I may be off...math isn't flowing well this morning

How do you take the barrel off the trailer and fill the feeder?
We always just filled up bags at Penton’s so we only had 50 lbs to handle.

Does the place in Defuniak provide the barrel for that price ?
His add on Facebook says it's $15 for the barrel so $55 for barrel filled with corn. I did that last year, very nice barrel that I'll be getting filled up again!
