How do you take the barrel off the trailer and fill the feeder?
We always just filled up bags at Penton’s so we only had 50 lbs to handle.
I don’t take the barrels off of trailer, I use old cooking pot with a long handle to dip the corn with to fill up 5 gallon bucks that I’ll take to the feeders to fill them. Easy peasy

Squirrels can and will gnaw their way in to plastic barrels. Had several plastic feeders the squirrels ruined years ago.
They won’t gnaw holes in to these barrels, stay tuned to see the topper I’m going to build on top of the truck bed to keep the elements out and rodents out while allowing easy access to dip the corn out when I need it, just waiting for some cooler weather to build it.

I started to build mine, and have everything that I could easily finish it. But I've been pondering, saving parts (shafts, bearings, thick angle), bought an battery powered boat winch. I think I want mine to dump. I worked the hell out of one for years, and have regretted getting rid of it many times.

Last one I had, I could change out a pipe/ladder rack to a lockable camper shell.
