Since very few people have been on the receiving end of an artillery strike or air power it is normal they'll be rattled even if they saw some action in the sandbox.

Well. The hypersonic missiles aren't as mythical as many would like to have thought. Man those things are scary. I wonder what the ranges are on them officially. In theory they could launch one at every capitol of every Nation nearby and make quick work of things. Before they have time to react and verify if it's a real threat it may be too late depending on how close you are. Due to the missile going so fast it creates a plasma shield around it that absorbs radar. Then they can outrun all missile countermeasures. I guess the only way to track them is by actual eyesight. And try to shoot it from head on. Crazy stuff

Yep. And it looks like they already have some that can shoot 2000-3000+ miles, at least as far as china. They're pretty good buddies, so I think if push came to shove, it would be safe to say China possibly could arm them if needed or can or have shared tech info. I may research later today and see if any of the other nations near them have any. If they do, they've kept it secret. I haven't heard news of them flexing about any. So, they're likely all feeling like sitting ducks now. And it's just a matter of time till they make some that can reach us. They may already can if they can be sub/ship launched. They made some leaps and bounds while we were busy fighting and funding Afghanistan

Even if they can be tracked it would be tracking where it was and maybe extrapolate a destination. Amazingly they can supposedly maneuver while traveling at a speed of Mach 5, or over 3800 mph

I guess the only saving grace about them would be that at least for now, they're speed and range would limit the size of payload they can carry. Therefore making them cost prohibitive. But, if you can spend a ton on a few and strike the epicenter of leadership while they're all gathered it seems to me like it's cheaper than a long war. So we may see these used before war is even declared in the future maybe?

Saw the results of an interesting poll in the U.S. The question posed was would you stay and fight for your country (U.S.) as the people of Ukraine are doing today. Only 55% of Americans would stay an fight. nearly 40% would flee! Interestingly, more Republicans and independents said that they would stay and fight compared to Democrats. In the age group 18-34 more would flee than stay and fight. Our country is doomed.

Our "greatest generation" must be turning over in their graves now.

I don't think China would arm them for a war against us. We are way to tied to China with trade. If our economy goes, so does theirs. I heard Lavrov made a U turn from going to China once he found out China aired the 10 people in the bread line being shot by Russian snipers. Looks like China might be trying to distance themselves from it at least in public.

I didn't mean to imply "us". But I'm sure they think if we're arming Ukraine, why can't they arm their red buddies? If we try to sanction them can't they simply recall our debt? Then use the sanctions as justification to attack Taiwan. Which they're foaming at the mouth to do anyways? How would we re pay it? Print more money and inflate the economy more? It would kill us overnight I bet. Then they're currency would be Supreme either way after. Whether we pay it back, or if we decide to not pay it. If we don't pay then the value drops to zero. I think we've pretty well painted ourselves into a corner with this administration. And this is just year one. Just 3 more to go. What could go wrong lol.

They'd take a hit to some extent sure. But the reward in the long run would put them in the lead by far. And that's what China does best. Play the long game. Then on top of all that damage well be funding two wars halfway across the globe, right after we had to flee from another just this same year. Things aren't looking good. Blood is in the water. It wouldn't shock me if Canada invaded tomorrow lol
