I just got a 1970 bronco for the grand total of $150. Not too bad.

That looks like a lot of work, good luck with it.

thanks yall! i dont know what im gonna do with it yet. i dont need another project but its an early bronco and ive always wanted one. the only salvagable parts above the frame are the grill/headlight area and the rollcage. the firewall looks ok from what i have seen but i havent looked much. 3 speed on the column, dana 20 tcase, dana 30 front and ford 9" rear. has a 289 in it but no intake manifold.

My brother-in-law just had his '71 done in a total frame-off restoration. It's incredible. The restorer had it 3 or 4 years.
He said he could have bought a new jeep for what it cost him.

Yep, that is the biggest issue with them, parts are expensive. Even though many parts from an F150 will fit, many parts are specific to the Bronco such as the steering box which is outrageously expensive. I could have built two 76 Jeeps for what it cost me to rebuild my 76 Bronco in 96.

Nice. I rebuilt a 71 Toyota FJ40. Always liked the old bronco as well.

If you have no interest in restoring the Bronco, if I were you I think I would find a website that caters to Bronco enthusiasts and put the whole thing up for sale. That way you make some money and a piece of Americana is saved and passed on to somebody who will appreciate it.
The Toyota FJ40 - was that the old Land Cruiser with the jump seats in the back ? Those things were tough as nails. I had a friend who had one for a while. We drove it to Georgia hunting and it wouldn't do over 60 it was geared so low.

    ^ Agreed!

I wouldn't mind an old Bronco with a *little* work needed. I'm certainly no car guy but my dad and I can get something running no problem. I'm actually looking at maybe buying an old Army Humvee in the future once I've got my homestead up and running. Maybe even a LMTV, though I'd prefer a Humvee. If I ended up with an old Bronco, I'd have zero complaints though.

One of our club members that was real close to my Dad bought a 70 Bronco with a burned valve for a bit more than the OP paid for his... but, this was in 77. The
gent pulled the head, changed the valve, and drove it for 2 years and traded it in on one of the full size models with A/C. That thing would climb a tree.
