Thought at first this was in Gaelic but realized it is Old Irish. Yep, something moving about the Mother tongue.
The older form of Irish better matches that replica of the carnyx or dord a bronze horn native to Ireland. I would never be able to know the difference. You are more of a linguist than I could ever hope to be and I congratulate you on your scholarship.

Well, While I may have finally recognized it I can assure that without the subtitles I would not have understood it. My family lived in England when I was a child and I had a nanny who spoke Gaelic.

I don’t know if anybody has already mentioned this song, but if they have then they know how great this is like I do. The first bars of music before the band starts singing guaranteed to get you up and moving. Best two-step dance song with a woman out there. Try it you’ll like it.
It’s even got guns and shooting in it!

This is not a song, but this music has accompanied the deaths of many warriors over centuries during the Spanish reconquista against the Moors as they drove them out of Spain and in the new world when the spanish were driven out by revolts in the colonies.
It was played by the forces of Santa Anna at the Alamo as they stormed the walls. It means no quarter and those that surrender will get their throats cut.

February 1957 I was sitting four feet from the front of the stage on the grass watching Buddy and the Crickets do this song at Connie Mac Stadium in West Palm. Very obvious they were very, vey different in 1957. We have gone many miles together.
