Thoughts on the Magpul CTR stock

Building an AR and wanted to know if anyone had any opions or thoughts on the Magpul CTR stocks. Found one on PK firearms for $118 looked like a good price.
Any help would be appreciated.

I pay around 75 for them, try JoeBoboutfitters.com I use them on all my AR's, love them and pretty inexpensive.

I have one on my AR. It locks down more tightly than the MOE stock, which I like. It is a pretty basic yet solid and lightweight stock. I don't think you can go wrong, unless you're looking for something with more adjustability as far as cheek weld and/or storage compartments.


Back before all this madness, I got mine with the buffer, spring, tube and plate for $100 on Amazon. I have seen the stocks for less than $70 by themselves even recently.

I also use the extended butt pad, they are interchangeable.

118 is WAY too much. great stocks though. i have a moe, ctr and a prs. have also had a acs. love them all. ubr is next in line

Nice stock, especially the "lock" feature so they don't wiggle. I've since went to the STR stock since it's like the CTR but with storage for batteries.

The $118 is for the kit. stock,tube,buffer, spring,etc.
If anyone knows where you can get the kit for less than $118 please let me know.

That's probably not a bad price, if it's in stock wherever you found it. I'll try to do a little research and see what I can come up with.

Check Delta3 tactical in Georgia, I got mine and it was 84 or 85 for the stock and buffer kit

I found a couple on ebay for less than $118, but the auction is still open.

Delta Three has them listed for $84 (https://delta3tactical.com/store/products/MAGPUL-MOE-Stock-Kit-Milspec-%252d-Black.html), but I would call to make sure they're in stock before ordering. That price seems too good to be true nowadays.

Edit: Sorry, that was the MOE Kit. The CTR kit is $130 (https://delta3tactical.com/store/products/MAGPUL-Milspec-CTR-Stock-Kit-%252d-Black.html), which seems about normal right now. I would go for the $118.

WHen I ordered from delta three, it was new years ..so it took a little extra time. And I believe he is a one man operation, but with that said.....he called me to tell me it was I stock and to verify shipping info. Great guy to work with if you have a little patience

Is that just the stock or the kit with tube, spring, buffer,etc

Excellent stock! The lock makes all of the difference in the world, and the built in QD Sling point is a very nice feature. I also use the extended butt pad, however the stock will not fully collapse and 'lock in' completely with this pad.

I prefer the MOE version. I have no use for the lock (MOE is solid enough) or QD cup on the CTR version.

Love mine. Has a great fit and finish to it! The price you mentioned does seem a bit high... Check around before purchasing. Saw some on ebay that were around 80 the other day. These were not the "made in china PTS" models either. You wont be disappointed with um.

I have serveral CTR's, great stocks, options for cheek risers, different butt pads, as well as the ambidextrous quick detach sling cup in the back. Good stuff
