Last few years strictly Hoppes #9 & M-Pro 7, both cleaner & oil. Just got some KG-12 to try out for copper.

Started using Hoppes as a kid, and still do. As far as I knew, that's all there was.I use automatic transmission fluid as an oil, and believe it would work just fine as a cleaner if I had to put it to that use. I say that based on a mechanic friend saying he'd seen plenty of gummed up engine internals, but never a dirty transmission. Hmmm. Why I lube my bores with it. Might be totally wrong, but it feels right.

Valve grinding compound thickly coated on a cotton patch cut specifically from the skid mark part of 3 day worn skivies.
This, put on a steel jag of one bore size larger than the weapon.

I'll video when you try to put that one size larger jag through the bore.

I'm thinkin' a three-pound hammer to drive that jag through ought to do. Maybe one of those waffle-faced framing hammers, just in case you miss. It'll add charater, to you and the gun.....

Kinda where I got my trans fluid inspiration from. I'll also confess to using brake/parts cleaner on some parts, and I use it to clean my bore brushes and mops when I'm done; just like new.

I just use the self cleaning ammo... $60 a box, $40 for registered democrats.
