What's so special about this mag?

bought some stuff from a guy and this mag was part of the deal. HK steel mag. anybody know if this is anything special?

those are probably the finest AR pattern mag ever made. durable beyond a doubt and ultra reliable. HK never does anything half-assed. they are heavy though!

I’ll never understand people that buy the best rifles and use the cheapest magazine they can buy in it. H&K maritime is simple the best available.

Yes, they are expensive. It took me a while to convince myself to spend that much on a magazine . I now have 8 and could have bought a 5 gallon bucket full of some other decent brand for what they cost. The odds that I’ll ever be in a fire fight are slim to none , but it’s also not likely that I’ll ever have a house fire but I pay for insurance on my house anyway. I’ve always been fond of quality in tools and equipment.

My USGI issued ones worked well in my 20 years of kicking ass and taking names in the Marines…those HK ones sure aren’t cheap; congratulations on the “Easter egg” find.
