I called and they had 2 with wood.

    Wood with SS 3500 +

    Wood made in 74 2500+

Might ride over an take a look.

It was the correct number for the Spanish Fort outlet.

    Thanks.

All you have been good about looking out for me.

I'm still looking but I think after some concideration and some clarfication from one of the members here.

I'll be looking for a face to face sale on a good used one with wood.

Like I told him I don't like the paper work .

I love my country but I don't trust our government .

    Their fault not mine!

Yes I'm as legal as anyone can be.

Again thanks for keeping me in mind .

Has anybody seen one of the cheap M1a s in one of those expensive gun shops.? LOL!

    Just kidding...

Would rather buy one face to face now.

    Question:

I have some old Winchester rifles I might want to sell ...

Can I list them here ?

    Thanks!

Looks like I won't be buying one at Jays either LOL!

I have seen some good lookers at reasonable prices but most have been out of state.

I have looked at inflated prices at the gun shows too.

    I'm still looking.

Now Now CCHGN, I probably should check out these rifles before he posts them and maybe take one for the GCGF gang and take the "undesirables" home with me :D

They have one in the cage (not on the rack) at Academy Sports - I believe for $1600. Their corp mgt will not allow "modern sport rifles" to be displayed in the racks - so look down below in the cage.

    Thanks oneshot.

I will keep you in mind as I have run across some in the black stock but never really thought about changing the stock.

Just went into Outpost in Spanish Fort. I don't know hardly anything about M1's, but they had at least 8 variants. I'm assuming the used looking ones were garands and the new ones were M1A's. I think there were 3 new ones and the prices I could see were $1650-$2500. I'm still close by if you'd like me to go get a better look.

M-1 Garand: Usually US 30 cal (30.06), internal 8 round magazine, no flash hider, gas tube runs almost to muzzle.

M-1A: Civilian M-14, 7.62mm (.308), external box magazine, long flash hider, gas tube about 6" short of muzzle. Prettiest rifle ever made.

Also SOCOM M-1A: 16" barrel, ugly, blasphemy
