Here's a writeup I did for another site for day 1...
Ok, back in the hotel room. I am exhausted. This is nuts. I did a big survey of the main show and only even glanced at 1/3 of it. This thing is absolutely bonkers. I wanted to do more updates throughout but Dad got in around 2pm and had to...
Few things:
Resolution is low, as expected. I wouldn't feel comfortable with long shots at night with this like I do with my Gen3 stuff.
This video is shot using extra IR light.
That being said, I'm excited, even though they keep pushing everything back!
Your best best is going to be a maui jim reader or a costa c-mate. Both are polarized lenses available in gray or brown (brown has much higher contrast and will be best for this scenario) and have a reader in the bottom. I bet the brown will really help you see the planes at distance. You may...
They actually get certain frames for less than I can. The LEO/Military program only has a limited selection of frames but they have amazing pricing on them.
This is definitely the case. Light colored eyes are much more sensitive to light. You also probably get a bit of extra glare than most do at night when driving. Whether you realize it or not is a totally different story. You've been that way all your life so you may think what you see is...
Ok, much better response than I expected! So, just a bit of background... I am an ABO certified Optician, so prescription glasses are definitely possible for those that need them. Basically, I'll be saving money by ordering multiple items at once and not having to pay individual shipping to...
So, my real job is that I am an Optician here in Texas. I have been doing this a long time and work for an optical that has a lot of frame lines. A couple of the boards I frequent (Texags, 2cool fishing, etc) I have a pretty good rep with and will do seasonal group buys on Costa, Maui Jim...
I am hoping to be wrong on this, but I doubt I would feel comfortable identifying a target at 200yrds with any sort of digital NV. Less than 100 with optimal lighting, it may be great but I doubt I would feel comfortable taking a really long shot like I am with my D760 Gen 3+ NV Scope.
Because this isn't using an image intensifier tube, as far as I know, there isn't really a "max limit" on caliber. Most analog NV has a limit of 556 (Night Optics did just drop a new scope that can handle 308). When looking at analog NV, the unit uses an image intensifier tube that is partly...
That I am. If you want one, let me know and I'll get you the hookup on the price, if you haven't ordered already. The 5-18x would be about $600 plus shipping with my forum discount. If you just want to let me try it out first, I'm fine with being the guinea pig and letting you know how it goes!
