Ian, you are totally correct, that would just be too good! Actually I think it takes less tools to break down an AR that is does a 1911...

Bushing wrench should be about it, it makes it easier, but I had 1911's for a while before I owned one. Some of my 1911's don't even require one for disassembly, my les baer however requires an act of congress to get the barrel bushing out, just depends on how tight its fitted. The rest of what's needed to take one down are just normal hand tools, nothing special.

Does the RO not come with a bushing wrench? My Para came with one.

I thought it might since some said it did but just pulled up a picture of people's boxes and it comes with 2 mags, cleaning rod, holster, magazine carrier. I'll grab one on amazon. Was hoping to grab it and go to range same time tomorrow.

Don't need a bushing wrench unless it's tightly fitted or has a full length guide rod, but even then, it's optional, but good to have. You really don't need one with an RO9.

Also, if you've never had a 1911, watch out for reassembly, you don't want an idiot mark.

I left two Bullseye on the shelf or the next guy. There was also WST, WSF, BlueDot (about 10 pounds of each) along with some Varget, 3031, 4064 and others.

Decided that I need to complete a little collection of The Fantastic 4 1911 makers. 2 down, one en route, one to go, so I've listed a couple of great guns.

Changed out some ASC mag followers. A couple of years ago I ordered 4,6.8 mags from them(ASC). Two 5 shot and two 10 shot. All four mags that they sent me had a 6.5(they also make Grendel mags)stamped on the follower. I have been using them with no problem in both my Spikes and my Bushmater lowers.

When I notified them that they sent me the wrong mags they simply stated that their 6.8 amd 6.5 mags are the same, however they sent me four 6.8 followers anyway. This AM I finally got around to switching them out. --- SAWMAN
