CCW renewal, fingerprint card?

I just got my renewal package in the mail. I am living out of state taking care of a family member.

In the package was a finger print card. The form said I could renew online, so I went in a did that. No mention of a finger print card was mentioned online….

I (of course) had my fingprints done (12 years ago?) with my initial application.
Has anyone had a new fingerprint card required with a recent renewal?

I had my renew done at dmv office ,all they did was new photo

I've renewed twice both times at DMV. I was never asked for a new fingerprint card. Both renewals a new more recent photo was taken. Renew at DMV or on line I don't think that would change anything regarding the need for a new fingerprint card.

Thanks, I submitted a new photo (uploaded it online) …. Hopefully it goes through. I’ll keep everyone posted.

I had my renew done at DMV office. All they did was new photo

Same here. Paid renewal fee and got a new CCW with new photo. Simple and quick.

In Alabama they've never taken a new picture, they just pull up my old one, from 20 years ago, on file and recycle it, lol.

Just an update; got my new card in the mail today.

So just in case anyone else gets a form in the future that says “new fingerprint card required” just know that you can ignore that and just apply online (have to upload a passport picture) and it works out.

In Alabama they've never taken a new picture, they just pull up my old one, from 20 years ago, on file and recycle it, lol.

Also, in Alabama they've never taken my fingerprints either. I've had a CCP for 30 years.

They have only one package for a first time CCW or a renewal.
