Viking, you sir sound like a socialist. You got your socialized healthcare, and your ebt cards, leave our guns and accessories alone! You should move to Cuba, then you wouldn't have to worry about evil capitalism. And the last time i checked, when gold jumped up overnight, it wasn't costing anymore to make it then it was the night before...

Now we're resorting to name calling, nice. Like I said I'm done arguing, my opionion is local business and gun enthusiasts shouldn't try to take advantage of each other by jacking up the prices way above reasonable levels. Some people on this earth treat others fairly while others always try to take advantage of others any chance they get. I'll stick with treating people fairly.

Good to see so many people with a grasp of supply and demand, capitalism. I feel for those trying to acquire the tools of freedom in todays market, but like somebody said, who didn't see this coming? Isn't there a children's story about 2 tree rats, one worked hard to store enough mags and ammo for the winter, the other frolocked, played and bought booze and stereos instead, and didn't make it through he winter.

So here's my advice for the future, what would it hurt to have a supply of food/water and fuel stockpiled? Just in case a loaf of bread ever sells for $65.
Don't think it could ever happen here?

    Rick

    Yep.
I am sad about the current craziness but for my own selfish reasons.
1- Just how much damage the politicians will do to us and our rights.
2- If and when the prices will come back down to reasonable levels so that I can continue to enjoy my sport and my rights.
I have a hard time feeling bad about the people that ignored the signs that started in 2008. It was easy to figure out what was coming. Did I stock up on everything that I would like to have? Nope. I did not have that much disposable income. I am relatively happy about what I have stashed. I have no intentions of buying anything at these crazy prices and really don't have anything that I am interested in selling. I have enough to keep me going for a couple of years (except reloading supplies which is my fault) and hopefully things will be better by then.

People, it's not over yet. The politicians that the "gimme" people voted in have just begun. I truly believe the economy is going to get worse than any of us have seen in our time, even the old folks like me. It's time to batten down the hatches and have something to fall back on when bread hits $50 and gasoline $60. You have seen what can happen to guns and ammo in a space of two or three weeks. Don't be so blind to think that can't happen to food and other necessities.

I think it's funny that so many people bitch about Walmart and their day to day business practices and right now, as far a guns and ammo are concerned, Walmat is one of the few companies that is holding the line.

I find myself visting and calling Walmart more often these days for that exact reason. I was able to stock up on some .308 and 9mm ammo this morning and got put on the call list for when they receive a batch of .223. Once I get that I'll be set and plan to sit back and watch the show! BTW, great signature!

When a loaf ob bread sells for $65 I will be on food stamps and if that is not enough, self preservation will kick in and I will be a criminal (if the Gun ban does not make me a criminal first).

Not anymore they just raised their prices on ammo. $3.49 for a box of 50 22 shorts. It just takes a little longer for larger companies to raise their prices.

And there is a damn good chance the manufacturer or distributor or both raised their price to Walmart.
