Dan that's the Nikon M-308 4-16x42 BDC 800 I had on the AR-10! I know it's "technically" an AR scope but I like it a lot and after doing some research online I discovered a lot of guys have put one on their bolt guns and liked it! I'll be going up to the hunting camp next weekend to sight it in and I'll let you know how it goes!

One minor problem with that, unless you have the holster registered with BATF as an AOW,
its illegal as heck...
so if you ever have to use it, make the holster dissappear before the fuzz get there

Only reason I know about that particular law, got a derringer from my grandfather,
and was asking at different shops for one of those old-style "Bret Maverick" pocket holsters...
was shocked to find out that they are considered as an AOW by BATF...
one of the local BATF officers was in the last shop I asked at...
he informed me of the particulars...as in:
you can have a wallet holster, but the pistol cannot be fired from inside the holster...
no hole for fingers to make it go bang...must cover the trigger area completely.

I've always wondered what the point was of a holster that didn't cover the trigger since as far as I'm concerned, the point of a holster IS to cover the trigger.

The way that these get around the AOW issue is by not covering the slide of the pistol.

They are garbage - but even the original "wallet holsters" that completely cover the firearm like those once sold by NAA for the mini revolvers would only require s $5 tax stamp to register.

It is no quicker to use such a piece of garbage than to just draw from a pocket holster. It's just one more variable to possibly cause a malfunction or to give you a less than desirable grip on the pistol from an accuracy standpoint.

To each his own. If you like them - carry it.

Usually, it just a way to fantasize about shooting a BG after he "asks for your wallet" and you shoot him with a pistol in one of these "rigs"...
