Been a month, time for some corned beef and cabbage with onion and potatoes. Wife fried the potatoes separately and combined with the beef, cabbage, and onion mix after they were done. I topped mine with a little spicy ketchup.

Fathers day is coming, got your kishka, kielbasa & pierogi recipe handy? Perhaps a Kolache or two for dessert?

Wife made some box jambalaya, not bad but not as good as homemade. Next time, I will kick it up some.

Took the wife out for seafood last night at The Original Oyster Bar 31 on the key. She loves the place, I think it is slipping, but still good. Might have got some points if I claimed it was for mother's day, but did not.

Surf last night, turf tonight! Rib eyes cooked 7 minutes a side, and turned once. Cooking alongside were hot dogs and chili cheese brats, while baby bellas were simmered on the stove. Steak was dressed with horseradish butter just before serving.

Deer back strap, marinated in Worcestershire, course black pepper, and garlic. Then wrapped with an onion and bacon and basted on the grill with Sriracha, butter, honey and garlic. Served with butter beans and ham. Dang good vittles right there !!!!!

I put this Boston butt on the smoker this morning. I'm about 10 hours in now and only have about 15° more to go before it's ready to come off. My father in law made some macaroni salad. It's chilling in the fridge and will go nicely with the pulled pork.

Yeah, I've done one that way before. We didn't really care for it. We much prefer it pulled. Now I do occasionally smoke a pork loin and run it to an internal temp of 150°. I like to chop some of the loin up and make pork fried rice with it. The smoked meat makes amazing fried rice!!!

Yep, and I am better for it. I don’t know how many times I hear parents today say, “They will only eat chicken nuggets” well that’s because that’s what you let them eat !!!!!!!!!!
