Sometimes you will see where someone is salvaging an old boat.mant times they have lead ballast.check around old boat yards.ive also scrounged wheel weights from tire shops but this is drying up.Does anyone have any good lead sources around Milton ? Looking to cast my own buckshot.
What %'s alloy are you looking for ? I have several mix's % wise , including pure Pb

Cool. I’ve seen these online, never used one though. If they drop freely from your mold, you likely want the harder alloys for buckshot relative to tight patterns.
Commercially smaller shot used to be made in drop towers. A drop of molten assumes a mostly spherical shape during free fall.
Now days the Bliemeister method is used for smaller birdshot sizes.

Buckshot I looked it up: Buckshot is traditionally swaged (in high volume production) or cast (in small volume production). The Bliemeister method does not work for shot larger than #5 (0.12 in, 3.05 mm), and works progressively poorly for shot sizes larger than about #6.
I read the link. It seems keeping the mold hot enough and that one has to pour under pressure to fillout the molds. Are lee molds still made out of aluminum? Adding some tin may be necessary also.I only cast rifle bullets, maybe this will help Casting buck shot
