There was an article in the News-Journal about 20 years ago highlighting a local big game hunter. Hunting had never come up and I was surprised when Mom took offense. She killed chickens as a kid for dinner. Gutting fish wasn't a problem for her.

She found the guy's phone number and called to cuss him out. They talked two hours. When she ended the call she was in love with the dude. He was one of those guys that paid to hunt Africa. He explained how he was only allowed to shoot certain animals and that it helped keep the species healthy.
