I love hearing good stories like that caveman, not enough of them unfortunately because we have a coward for a leader of this country at the moment.

    NOTABLE QUOTES...

The military don't start wars. Politicians start wars.

If you find yourself in a fair fight, you didn't plan your mission properly.

King Henry V, when his army had been reduced to a small band of tired, weary & wounded men at Agincourt said this to rally his men, to remind them there were not mercenaries, but a band of brothers.

    We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he today that sheds his blood with me
    Shall be my brother
And gentlemen in england, now a-bed
    Shall think themselves accursed they were not here;
And hold their manhoods cheap while any speaks
    That fought with us.

Anyone here have a dodge ram? My dad has a 12 quad cab big horn and we have a 13 quad cab work truck at work and I really enjoy them. I found a used one that I'd like to finally get and dump the Jeep. It's a 2011 quad cab 4.7 v8 SLT with 50k miles. My jeep is a 12 with 46k. I'll be going to a boat next so the miles will equal out as it will be parked 300+days a year.

I have a 2010 Dodge Ram Big Horn 4X4 2500 Diesel. Absolutely love it for just cruising, towing the boat, or taking the dog for a ride. Unfortunately it usually sits in the yard while I drive my little VW diesel to work everyday.

    Ryan,
Bought a New 98 Dodge 2500 w/cummings (24 valve) 4X4. Rode very stiff and extreamly Noisey even for a DSL! Seats uncomfortable on trips of a few hours (bottom of thighs toward knees). Got rid of it and bought a new 2000 F350 7.3 DSL Crew, LB, 4X4. 50% Quieter, soft road ride loaded or empty. How great is it?
I STILL HAVE IT! Only 109K on speedo, I don't need it anymore but hate to get rid of such a great truck.

What type of Jeep are you getting rid of?

Well I checked out the truck..they didn't detail it so I got to see it in all it's glory. Previous owner had it set up for a 5th wheel with air ride and all that but it really looks like they took it cross country...kept all the trash in it..and then traded it in. Tranny fluid was not pink at all and the oil...oh what oil. I checked out a 1500 4x4 which was very nice but they came in 3k lower than the other two dealers ive visited and said they were firm on it. I'm going to take the lift, 35s off, and replace the windshield and maybe i'll get back into liking the Jeep. 4X4 in the Ram was nice just turn the dial....

Sean....I had a major heat stroke a few summers back....about this time of year....and I still wonder if I have recovered from it....well I will use that excuse for the way I am anyway !!!
The point is....someone went and got me a couple of bottles of the Orange Flavored Electrolite stuff that they give Babies when they are dehydrated or have the green apple quick steps.....It tasted sorta like gator ade but thicker.... but it really really helped....They sell it at WallyWorld and like I said it was designed to hydrate babies....and it worked better than anything I had tried...Just Sayin

I'll slog through this and pass on cold weather. My body is thriving in some ways from this but I'm in some sort of chemical/nutrient/electrolite imbalance. Add in bone tired.

I'm slamming fruit, fruit juices, raw veggies, Gatoraid, water, tea and 1-2 Coronas a night. The other night I had a pile of fried shrimp and oysters. Next day I had a Montezuma Revenge experience . My appetite is way down. I never have allergies or headaches but handling a lot of grease, dust, roach, rat and who knows what droppings has got my skin really irriated. Because of that I take at least three showers a day and wash my hands probably a dozen times. My skin is trashed.

Pedialyte. I've heard it's good for hangovers as well, for the same reason: rehydration.

I don't remember the name....but that sounds like something I have heard of before.....A couple of women who had children were the ones who went and got it for me...I think they bought the Wallyworld brand...which was probably made out of Yak Urine and Tang !!! But hey...it worked !!!

Yep, I've done Pedialite before. It works. Thanks JM.

You never fully recover from heatstroke. You do get better but it makes you more susceptible the next time. Not bragging but I've always been able to handle heat better than a lot of folks. What happened Sunday was a combination of getting my body chemistry way out of balance, working really long hours of pretty intense physical labor and honestly, I'm sort of stressed over all this. When I get given a deadline on something I tend to over-focus and even when I sleep I'm dreaming about what I have to get done. Sunday my body said "Nope! Not today. Youre gonna park your ass and recharge". I did. I took it kind of easy at work yesterday and then hit it wide open today and I'm fine.

Also got some good news, looks like I can stretch the deadline out some more. Not a lot but I can get everything that has to be moved easily and sill have time to do the personal picking with ease. I'm taking out hundreds of feet of high quality vinyl fencing to go on my property, gonna move a couple of small buildings to my house, strip the big commercial building of practically brand new heavy gauge sheet metal siding, appliances, sinks, lighting on and on. This guy is going to have some serious outbuilding on his property, and the landscaping he wants. Backyard is going to be a bit junky for a while but when I'm done I'll have the place I want and save tens of thousands of dollars doing it.

The doctors at the VA Clinic warned me that I would have less tolerance for this damn humid ass heat in the coming years....and they were right.....I simply can not handle it some days.....but then again on Dec 31st I will be 65.......so I am still hanging in there until they find my old tired ass body laying in the yard !!!

I had a 2004 RAM 1500 quad cab. 5.4L HEMI 4x4. Put a little over 100k in miles on it. A lot of which towing a bass boat around Missouri with a few cross-country trips. Great truck. Only work done to it was brake pads/discs and upper/lower ball joints. The tech said the 20" wheels were to blame for the ball joints even though they were stock, seems a wheel that big does a little something something to all the mechanical stuff. NO, I am not a car guy; I work on computers.

For being an '04 that wasn't garage kept, I have to give Dodge props for the fit and finish. No fading of the dash and even the overhead push on/off lights made it the distance. The driver seat did crap out somewhere around the 80k mark and could have used some upholstery work. Not that I ever adjusted the seat much, but one of the motors in the power seat (that tiles the front of the seat) seized up.

All in all a decent truck. The HEMI can be a very loud beast if you go with some after market exhaust.

Anyway, traded it in back in April. My 'wants' and needs in a vehicle changed so I went with a Jeep Grand Cherokee 'Overland'

I despise Chris Myers jeep dealer but they give the best alignments. Going to see if maybe an alignment/ road force balance on the jeep and if they see anything wrong. I have a feeling my ball joints are shot at the least. My tie rod ends look a little squishy. I used to wheel every weekend with it and I'm paying the price now..but on the other hand it seems not worth it to drive a jeep daily that I won't ever wheel. Whoever said the 4.7 would feel like a Hemi when you compare it to my jeep is wrong..my little 3.6 in my jeep blows the 4.7 in the ram easily and I'm on 35s with 3.73 gears. I have new gears in the garage I just wanted to get lockers before forking out for a regear but then I left my jeep club and the jeep has stayed as is for a long time now.

I really like Cherokees/not new grand Cherokees but last gens but then I checked out their price tag and passed.

I got my Jeep from Hill Kelly in P'cola. It ended up being a special order with pretty set pricing thanks to partnership discounts with my employer and bank
Regardless I liked their dealership folks and process.

Sitting at work today and had a couple hours to kill, went and sat in front of one the TVs, cracked the seal on a can of Pringles and started watching that show that was mentioned on here "Strike Back" ..ended up eating the whole thing of Pringles. The rest of the work day was a struggle to get though. Felt like shit.
So lucky my wife doesn't buy that stuff. I'd be a fat ass for sure.

Last takeoff? No Landing? So this plane is going to fly around endlessly with no place to land?

Yes Farook, that's exactly how it works

Actually that one went to Ferguson Airport. Just no more takeoffs and landings period for Coastal.

Almost forgot! Saw Farook at his work today. Sitting in his air conditioned office watching porn on his phone. Not doing one thing constructive. Lazy bastard.
