On the nightstand in Condition One is a STI Spartan 1911 in .45 ACP. One step away is a Remington 11-87 Police in Condition One with eight buckshot. The XDs 45 that is usually in my pants will either be on or in the nightstand.

Either the SBR'd Uzi or AR, both are within easy reach. Not a lot of concern about houses nearby or anyone in the house other than me, the wife and two dogs that total about 150lbs. I would hate to have Goofy get a hold of an arm or leg since we've watched him crush cow and pig femur bones we've given him.

45 with attached surefire in quick access safe, plus I would crab my carry gun (G26) as back up since it setting on the dresser. The two dogs can keep them busy as I grab the 45.

I am little surprised so many use the small calibers for home defense. I use a 9mm for carry but if I am at home I want the biggest gun I can get to fast.

If someone made it through all the outside dogs,then the inside dogs, I'm pretty sure what left could be dispatched with a pellet rifle. Then the hogs would get the remains. No 911 for the dumb ones.
