I use my green kill light and it is very effective to 100yrds, maybe more also have a red in the same light. My stands are 40-60 yrds from the blind but remember I have white solar lights on all feeders that come on w motion to acclimate the hogs to lights. I can see better w the green, the red will spook a little less, just point up and bring the light down slowly to the animal.

I think what Frank meant to say was "his stands are 40-60 yards from his feeders/bait".....

Heading out in the early morning to try and see if this guy will show up. He shows up on random days but always at 5am.

That's why I am getting out there at 4am and staying till just after daylight. And then, I am getting the heck out of dodge. It's not been too terrible with the thermacell going when I'm up about 15'.

Even with a new mat installed in my Therma Call......most of the time it works great but sometimes it just works...good. I can't seem to narrow it down to temp, humidity, clothing,or weather. I do know that it does work better in low wind and if you are in a house, better than a ladder stand.

TP, chances are that the hog is "around" somewhat earlier than 0500,just not in front of the game cam. Would suggest you get set up by 0300. I use some hog scent in a spray can that seems to work pretty good also. Could be just a curiosity thing for the hogs. However,I know one thing,it is SUPER skanky smellin'. --- SAWMAN

    LOL
Like a buddy of mine in Montana years ago. We were congratulating him on a huge bull elk kill with a bow. He said hell, it was self defense. He blew the elk call one time and the bull came charging out of the bushes about 30 yards away.

That dog fennel grows on almost any food plot in NW Flah-Dah. It is prolific, grows tall, and can be killed with Round-Up however you gotta soak it. AND......when you run over it with a bush hog ---> It smells exactly like the douche room of a Bangkok brothel. (Just a guess,of course)---- SAWMAN

We have been getting rain every day or so, our lease is very green. I was out today and it rained while I was there, hogs everywhere, saw 3 groups while I was there moving around, too quick to take a shot but they liked the rain and moist ground.
